LED lights

How do I identify an eligible LED light in stores?

Last updated on 13 July 2026

The Climate Vouchers can be used to purchase 2-tick, 3-tick and 4-tick LED lights based on the energy label below. LED lights with the old round energy label are not eligible.

Left label with green checks and 4-tick rating scale, right label with the old three-tick rating scale and red cross. From 1 April 2025, it is mandatory for all lamps to carry the refreshed Energy Label with the 4-tick rating scale

Note: From 1 April 2025, it is mandatory for all lamps to carry the refreshed Energy Label with the 4-tick rating scale (news link (opens in new tab)).

Some examples of eligible LED lights without energy labels: downlights, spotlights, and circular tubelights.

Three LED lights: downlight, spotlight, circular tubelight, each illustrated under respective labels.

Given that retailers may offer different models, it is advisable to enquire with them about the specific models that are eligible for purchase with the Climate Vouchers.
